Profile

Freya Bialaschik
I have been developing an abstract painting practice for the past four years. My work is grounded in reduction, layering and an ongoing investigation of spatial presence. The paintings emerge through slow, process-based stages in which colour, structure and surface gradually condense.
Central to my visual language are horizontal and vertical formations that oscillate between abstract landscape, structural order and trace.
I deliberately avoid narrative or illustrative elements and remain open in their composition. Rather than images to be read quickly, they function as quiet spatial fields that unfold over time.

Conceptual Focus
At the core of my practice is the question of how inner states, temporality and spatial perception can be translated into painterly form.
I conceive my works as durable visual spaces rather than expressive gestures. Silence, restraint and balance play a key role in the development of each work.
---------------------------------------------------------
The paintings are not intended as decorative objects. They are designed for sustained presence and reveal their full effect particularly within institutional and public contexts.
